As a very special birthday present, I was whisked away to New York a few weeks ago. New York is a city I adore...amazing views everywhere you look, the hustle and bustle, the buildings. Just being in the city fills me with joy! Here are a few pics:

A few places I recommend are Carlo’s bakery for amazing pastries and desserts (the strawberry cheesecake especially!), Top of the Rock for great views of the city, and an evening boat cruise to see the sights from a different point of view.

Whilst in New York, my mind wandered of course to New York weddings...where it could take place, when the best time of year would be, the photo opportunities! If you’re thinking of getting married in New York, we’ve made a head start for you and chosen five lovely New York wedding venues worth having a look at, each with a different style:

A few other things to consider are the time of year and transportation. A winter wedding may seem idyllic in the UK, but in New York the winter months can be very harsh with heavy snow and snowstorms. Summers can be sweltering with high humidity, so it is probably best to avoid the peak summer and winter months.

New York is also a very busy place! If you can, choose your wedding venue with hotels in close proximity...this will avoid your guests having to rely on taxis and subway. Alternatively, you could consider hiring a party bus for all your guests.
